Introducing Ceres...

While Ceres Food Group, Inc. is a new name, our founding organization, FSP (Food Service Professionals), began serving schools in 1970. Over the years, FSP developed a strong reputation serving Chicago area schools, universities, conference centers, residential homes, and long-term care facilities.

Ceres Food Group was created in 1995 as a strategic partner of FSP. Today, Ceres and FSP serve over 350 schools and a variety of non-school clients with Ceres' focus being public schools.

Ceres is a unique for-profit company whose purpose is to support our clients with quality food service and to earn a fair return to support non-denominational charitable activities in the communities we serve.

In order to build a successful program, we actively communicate with students, parents, and administration to create a food service program that each group supports enthusiastically.

Ceres purchases only quality food items. We prepare our food well, offer a wide variety of choices, and price the menu so that it is a good value. We conduct extensive taste test panels with students to create recipes and menu items that kids really like. Each year we serve over 15,000,000 meals to students--and we learn something new every day. Does your current lunch service lack menu variety?

Generating Excitement

Ceres offers extensive marketing programs to create excitement in the cafeteria food service. These programs include branded concepts, including Pizza Hut, Dannon Yogurt, MexiCasa, Delicious Creations, and Nacho Naturals. Our menus feature brand-name products that students know and like. In addition, we also feature at least one promotional event each month to build participation.

Management Support: People Make It Happen

Ceres provides your district with a strong management team that includes an experienced food service manager. Our support team is the most extensive and experienced in school food service with experts in operations, nutrition, equipment, benefits, training, sanitation, safety, accounting, purchasing, computer programming, and food production--all available to support the food service program.

We are proud to work with the dedicated food service staffs at our client locations. Ceres offers extensive training programs to encourage staff development and improve the level of service we provide to our customers.

Computerized Management Systems

A school lunch program is a large business, and our computerized systems provide your district with the accountability that is required. This includes accurate State meal reports, cash accountability, and timely and exact management reports to track financial performance.
